Compared to the Jetta TDI, the hybrid Jetta scores about 45 miles per U.S. gallon, or 5.23 L/100 km, which is almost as good as the TDI's Transport Canada 4.7 L/100 km rating. The Turbo Hybrid offers more horsepower (170 versus 140), but for day-to-day driving, I'd take the diesel's 236 lb.-ft. of torque over the gas-electric version's 184.
