For car fans, the Specialty Equipment Marketing Association show in Las Vegas is a holy grail of sorts. Ostensibly a trade show, it's become a quasi-public affair, a combination car-culture experience and showcase for aftermarket companies to display their wares. Known primarily as a venue for specialty auto-parts manufacturers to exhibit their latest creations, SEMA has enough attention-getting show cars that they form their own stand-alone attraction. And because the SEMA show is all about what's new, the meaningful show cars center on modified late-model production cars.
