This is a concept car worth paying attention to. Not only is the Active Tourer Concept the next step towards BMW's new "i" family of electric cars, it's also front-wheel drive. Yes, that's right — the rear wheels won't be powering this one. The Active Tourer combines a new three-cylinder turbocharged engine with an electric motor; like almost all new hybrids, it's of the plug-in variety, allowing it to travel for up to 30 km on electric power alone. Fuel consumption is rated at 2.5 L/100 km.
