1913: The start of Aston Martin

Aston Martin was founded in 1913 by Robert Bamford and Lionel Martin: it was originally called €˜Bamford & Martin Ltd€™. The name Aston Martin was adopted in 1914 following a run by Martin up €˜Aston Hill€™ in Buckinghamshire. The first Aston Martin, called €˜Coal Scuttle,€™ was built in 1915.
