Unlike Chuck, which is strictly for the drool and diaper set, the newish The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That! series has a couple of worthwhile tidbits for the older folk. First off, the Cat is voiced by inimitable Canadian comedy legend Martin Short, which alone almost makes it worth watching. And, it's got the awesome Thingamajigger. The Thingamajigger features mechanical hands that fasten the seatbelts, various seemingly pointless dials and buttons, wings when required, the capacity to also drive underwater, a place of pride for Fish's fishbowl, and a jumpseat in the back for Thing 1 and Thing 2. It also heralds every departure with fanfare and confetti. Assorted exhaust pipes, propellers and other doodads festoon its curvy sides. A design triumph.
