Joseph Stalin’s limousine
Sold for: Unconfirmed sale
If collectors fumble for the right to own vehicles once belonging to Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini, it stands to reason the limousine used by Joseph Stalin would be a much sought-after car, too. In 2010, a 1949 ZIS-110 parade limo driven by the former Soviet leader came to sale in Finland via online luxury marketplace JamesList, which marketed the historic ride as the personal car driven by Stalin between 1950 and 1953. Since it was a parade car, the limousine had very little mileage - under 1,300 km, according to one report - but had been fully restored to its original specs in 2001. Despite confirmation of the sale, no headlines ever surfaced that the Stalin limo was ever successfully auctioned.
