When it comes to buying new vehicles, consumers (and us auto journalists too) look for the latest high-tech convenience features, performance, and of course, styling. And as much as we here at MSN Autos emphasize the art of the automobile, the auto business is just that - a business, where the bottom line and the final dollar count.

To that end, the U.K. firm of Bernstein Research has published a list that doesn't contain the fastest, best-looking or most advanced vehicles. Instead, it focused on the dozen vehicles that have turned the biggest profits since 1990. These are the cars that have earned their makers the funds to advance - and in some instances, they've helped to keep these brands alive.

Surprisingly, nary a Ferrari or a Rolls-Royce is on the list. Click to see which cars and trucks made their makers the most money.
