It's been another year for Canadian drivers, but it's also been another banner year for Canadian criminals. According to the Insurance Bureau of Canada, there were 78,000 auto thefts in the country in 2012, the latest year data is available, and while that's a dip of about 4,500 cars from the previous year, auto theft — and the exporting of stolen cars — is still big business you're going to want to concern yourself with.
In 2013, $8 million worth of stolen vehicles were seized at the ports in Montreal and Halifax alone — the last stops in Canada before its nation's stolen rides were shipped east and away for good.
