While the Pajero never competed in the FIA World Rally Championships (that would be the role of its kid brother, the Lancer Evolution) it remains the uncontested champ of the world's most gruelling endurance race, the Paris-Dakar Rally. Of the 26 times the Pajero has entered the rally, it finished first on 12 occasions, seven of which were consecutive victories. It's hard to think of a tougher rally car than this.
