The production '73 Falcon XB GT was known as the "The Great Australian Road Car." But outside its homeland, and to many movie-goers around the world, it's better known as the scary Pursuit Special, driven by Mel Gibson's character "Max Max" Rockatansky in the trilogy of post-apocalyptic films.
To make the Falcon even more menacing, movie producers had a fiberglass nose-cone fitted, coated in flat-black paint, as well as a supercharger that poked through the hood and a plethora of side-mounted exhaust pipes. Pictured here is the Falcon in the Mad Max sequel, The Road Warrior.
