What does McLaren say the P1 is doing in the footage?

In the short video, a McLaren test driver is shown pushing the P1 very hard around a race circuit, in between shots of engineers pouring over data on laptop screens. This is just like the development approach used in F1 and shows clearly McLaren’s very high ambitions for this car. There doesn’t appear to be a scattergun approach here — it’s being set up and honed just like Jenson Button’s F1 racer.
