McLaren has already stated it will deliver a power to weight ratio of more than 600 hp per tonne. Remember too, this is a significantly more advanced car even than the 12C, which weighs around 1,350 kg. Despite the use of carbon fibre panels – which also have aerodynamic properties too – we can’t see the P1 being significantly lighter than that car. Which all points to an expected power output of well over 800 hp…
